UPCOMING EVENTS

Check out what other club members are up to throughout the year, including races, training sessions and social gatherings.

If you have an event you'd like to share with the group, email emc3triclub@gmail.com, or by clicking here.

Swimming

All year, Members of the E=MC3 club swim 3 times a week at the Clarence-Rockland YMCA. Members of the club are coached by Mathea Stevens, retired Canadian National Team member.

With a dedicated coach on deck each practice, you will learn the basics of how to swim laps of a pool as well as advanced training techniques to prepare you for an upcoming race. Practices include stroke technique, endurance work, lactate tolerance and race simulations.

Practices are Tuesday and Thursday nights from 8:00-9:00PM, and Sunday morning from 8:00-9:00AM. An additional fee of $25/mo is charged to join the swimming training sessions.

As soon as the weather warms up, members dive into open waters. Whether at Meech Lake, La Petite Nation or Lac Tremblant, members get together to train a different set of skills.

Biking

As soon as it is warm enough, E=MC3 members hit the pavement around Clarence-Rockland, Wendover and beyond on weeknights and weekends.

In the spring, members of the club train indoors together on trainers, as well as frequent the YMCA spin class.

In summer months, riders train outside anywhere from 30-100 km around the countryside.

In addition to local training, club members organize additional training sessions in Tremblant or the Muskokas.

Running

There is no formalized running program with E=MC3, however, many club members informally organize runs together, depending on speed and distance.

The club is working on establishing a running session once a week to explore proper running technique and drills to improve stride, injury prevention and running efficiency.

In addition to joining a social network of like minded people, there are several other reasons to join the club. E=MC3 is sanctioned by Triathlon Ontario. With a valid Triathlon Ontario membership, each member is covered under Triathlon Ontario insurance when participating in club sanctioned events.
